The YouTube community has lost a beloved member.
Australian influencer Alexandra, known to fans as Pretty Pastel Please, died in June at the age of 30.
"Her passing was sudden, unexpected and devastating to all who knew her," a July 5 message on her Instagram page began. "This is a shock to us all, and her family and friends have requested privacy as they navigate their grief. We would ask that you respect their wishes - they appreciate all of your support but need time to heal in private."
According to the note, a memorial for Alex will be shared on YouTube and Instagram in "due course."
"Thank you for understanding," the message concluded, "in this difficult time."
No further details on Alex's passing have been shared publicly.
Over the years, Alex—who started posting on YouTube in 2017— amassed nearly 700,000 followers on the platform.
As her bio explained, she shared "fashion hauls, product reviews, thrift shopping, travel content" on her page, as well as videos with "a talking parrot."
In one of her videos, posted in July 2023, Alex spoke out about going through a divorce.
'It's a long story," she shared at the time. "I think that the easiest and simplest way for me to put it is that Daniel and I agreed to move to Tasmania together and we were gonna sell our house in Sydney."
"So I moved here first," she continued, "and got a rental property and I was looking for a place for us to buy. And he was staying in Sydney continuing to work, doing up our place to sell it."
However, with time and distance, their relationship shifted.
"He changed his mind and didn't want to move," Alex said. "And asked for a divorce."
Alex's willingness to share the ups and downs of her life online is what connected her to many fans around the world.
"I’m truly sad and heartbroken," one Instagram user wrote July 5. "Her openness and vulnerability around her struggles, her love of animals, and her generous heart is how I will remember her. She was really special and I hope the best for her friends and family as they mourn this enormous loss."
