Naomi Campbell is opening up about her fears related to motherhood after welcoming two children via surrogate.
Campbell, 54, who welcomed a daughter in May 2021 and a son in June 2023, confirmed in an interview with British newspaper The Times published Friday that she had her babies via surrogacy. "I did," she responded to the inquiry.
"My babies are everything to me. It's made me fear for the future," she added. "I hope for a better world for my children. They are 110% my priority. I have to be there for them on their first day at school."
The supermodel also expressed worry about declining birth rates among Gen Z due to economic circumstances.
"I have heard a lot of young girls saying that it is too expensive to have children and they may not want them, and I have said, 'You will change your mind. You will want to be a mum,'" Campbell said. "I understand economically it is tough. But my mum had nothing and she made it work. It’s worth it. It is so amazing."

The mom-of-two previously hinted that she chose surrogacy for her daughter, telling British Vogue for the March 2022 issue that her newborn "wasn't adopted — she's my child."
"I always knew that one day I would be a mother, but it's the biggest joy I could ever imagine," she added.
In a similar statement to The Times, Campbell told British Vogue at the time that she has encouraged her older friends to have children. "I'm telling them all, 'Do it! Don't hesitate!'" she said.

Outside of expressing the personal joys of motherhood, Campbell has been relatively private about her children. She has not revealed either of their names or shown their faces.
In May 2021, she announced the birth of her first child with a photo on social media of her holding the new baby's feet.
"A beautiful little blessing has chosen me to be her mother," Campbell wrote on Instagram, tagging her mother Valerie Morris-Campbell in the photo. "So honoured to have this gentle soul in my life there are no words to describe the lifelong bond that I now share with you my angel. There is no greater love."
She announced the arrival of her second child in similar fashion on Instagram.
"My little darling, know that you are cherished beyond measure and surrounded by love from the moment you graced us with your presence. A True Gift from God," she wrote in the caption. "Blessed ! Welcome Babyboy," also adding on the hashtag #mumoftwo.
Campbell ended her post writing, "It's never too late to become a mother."
