The 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are now less than one month away, and some of the most high-profile U.S. teams are starting to take shape. Next up is the U.S. Olympic gymnastics trials, which run Thursday night through Sunday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
On the women's side, the trials will formalize what has been a near-certainty for more than a year: That Simone Biles will make a third trip to the Summer Games and likely add to her Olympic medal haul. Beyond that, however, there is plenty of intrigue about how the rest of the team will come together − with world medalist Shilese Jones nursing a shoulder injury, reiging Olympic champion Sunisa Lee competing in her home state and a host of both veterans and newcomers vying for the few remaining tickets to Paris.
On the men's side, meanwhile, Brody Malone, Frederick Richard and Khoi Young are heavily favored to cement their Olympic spots, but at least two spots are up for grabs.
Here's everything else you need to know about this week's Olympic gymnastics trials.
When are the 2024 U.S. Olympic gymnastics trials?
The 2024 Olympic trials in gymnastics start Thursday night and will run through Sunday night, with the men and women alternating competition days before their respective Olympic teams are finalized. The men will compete Thursday night and Saturday afternoon, while the women will go Friday and Sunday.
How to watch the 2024 U.S. gymnastics Olympic trials
The first session of men's competition Thursday will be televised on USA Network, while the next three nights − including the decisive Saturday and Sunday sessions − will be on NBC. The network will also show every minute of all four nights on its streaming service, Peacock, where it will offer both a general stream and apparatus-specific streams for viewers who are hoping to monitor a specific athlete.
Mike Tirico will host NBC's coverage, and Terry Gannon (play-by-play) will be joined by analysts Tim Daggett, Samantha Peszek and John Roethlisberger on the call.

When does Simone Biles compete at the gymnastics Olympic trials?
Biles is likely to compete her first rotation (uneven bars) shortly after 7:45 p.m. ET on Friday, then move in the order of events that is in place for Olympic competition − to balance beam, then floor exercise, then vault. On Sunday night, Biles will start on vault, with her first attempt around 8:20 p.m. ET. She will then go to uneven bars and balance beam before concluding on floor.
Is Simone Biles competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Entering this weekend, Biles' presence in Paris is all but a lock. But it will be formalized after the final session of Olympic trials competition Sunday night. Widely considered to be the greatest gymnast ever, Biles will be making her third appearance at the Summer Olympics. She won four golds and a bronze at the 2016 Rio Games, then a silver and bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
